BUILDING & LANDSCAPING
LANDSCAPING
Our property is enhanced with beautiful flowers, shrubs, olive and fruit trees. A great deal of work is needed on an ongoing basis to maintain our grounds. Volunteer opportunities include:
Pruning/Weeding/Mulching: Volunteers prune trees, shrubs and other plants as appropriate, weed grounds, plant trees and lay down mulch.
Grounds Pickup/Cleaning: Trash collects around the perimeter of our property, dirt collects on the terrace, walkways and drainage areas, people leave trash laying on the grounds. Volunteers pick up trash, clean drains and gutters, clean dirt from walkways and the terrace, and clean cobwebs, dirt and dangling leaves from temple and hall walls.

Amongst these works are a new fryer and canopy/exhaust fan which has been installed into the new renovated kitchen. The lower hall should be finished in the next 6-8 weeks. Other works include new tiling for the church side balconies.

Building Works Announcement june 14th, 2020
Concerning the major upgrade and extension of the lower hall that is currently taking place, we express our gratitude to Matthew Guy MP, our local State MP and Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship in the former Coalition State Government who granted the $300,000 in funding to the Parish. We of course also express our gratitude to the current State Government for reconfirming this funding and continuing to work with the Parish to deliver this critical project.
Building Works Announcement May 30th, 2020
Our Parish was fortunate to receive $300,000 in funding from the Victorian Government for the specific extension and upgrade of our lower hall area which has started looking very tired. The extension and upgrade of the lower hall will see the installation of classrooms and dedicated areas to cater for the Parish's many groups including Sunday School, Youth group and the Mother's Group. These works began recently and we expect will take up to 2 months.
We are also taking the opportunity, now that access to our Church is restricted, to also undertake some urgently needed upgrade works to the Church building including the re-tiling of balconies (with funds raised for this specific purpose during the Paniyiri), the church entry, and painting of the walls.
We have also commissioned iconography works for the Ginekoniti and the foyer area. We will provide further information on the iconography works in next week's email.
If you would like to contribute to the Church building upgrade works or to the iconography works, please contact info@stharalambos.org.au
